Freddi was the smallest and cheekiest in the litter, first to do everything, very quick to learn, always demanding attention, and letting you know when he was not getting it. He refused to live in a kennel and at the age of 12 weeks came into the house, where he has been ever since. From this early age we could see the character he was to be. This picture was taken at 9 weeks and looks like butter wouldn't melt. We call this his "Cheeky Charlie Pose".
At 7 weeks he thought he would revamp the fixtures and fittings around the house.
His show career started at Fife Championship Show when he was eight months old, under Herr Walter Martin, he won Minor Puppy, then went on to win Best Minor Puppy, Best Puppy Dog, Best Puppy in Show. The atmosphere, the attention he received, he loved 'it' and everyone, and so everybody loved him. He was " The New Kid On The Block" . He had arrived.
He had a total of 12 puppy classes - 10 Championship - 2 Breed Open. He won from these 8 x Best Puppy Dogs - 6 x Best Puppy In Shows.
He was The UK's Top Puppy of 1993
BPIS - Herr Ebe / Herr Fauser
BPIS - Percy Elliot / Malcolm Griffiths
He had one junior class under Bo Nyman which he won, and Two Special Yearling Classes where he took a Reserve CC under Andrew Winfrow, and a CC under Joyce Hopkins.
Instead of starting in the Limit class with a youngster, we decided to leave him out, to give him time to mature and develop. This was the biggest mistake we made. He needed the repetition of the ring environment, he was so excitable which made him harder to control and he did himself no favors.
At four years old we decided he had matured enough to give him a few shows, although he was still as "Daft as a brush".
He took another Reserve CC under Bo Nyman. And while on holiday in Ireland he won a Green Star and Two Reserve Green Stars.
At Eight Years Old, Freddi led his progeny for the fifth and final time at our 'Nationals'.
Also in 2000 he retired from the show scene, although he still likes to be ringside for all the attention and to shout his "Kids On".
He retired winning his only two Veteran Classes - ending as he began, all those years ago.
"Freddi" is now in his thirteenth year and as can be seen, still likes to play ball with his dad up in "Them Hills".
He still is game and just as daft, and helps train the youngsters, You "Wanna Try" getting out without him mate.
There are many people who have said he should have had his ' Title' . And I agree that the CH, in front of his name would have been nice. However his legacy as a producer means so much more to us, and the many who have included him in their breeding program's, as his kids have proved to the world time & time again. This FACT, Resulting in Freddi having gained The Top Honor of being :-
